Dreams embodied by Spanish Contemporary artists have a longtime tradition from the Renaissance

Artists, famous and unknown, took up the challenge of representing dreams or nightmares. Thus the most intriguing and memorable products of their efforts is actually the subject of an absorbing exhibition “Dreams in the Renaissance”, at Palazzo Pitti, Florence. The collection of more than 70 paintings, drawings, engravings and books are being exhibited through 15th of October. The first section is dedicated to sleeping figures: sleeping nude Venuses, infants watched over by Virgins, angels, Muses, cupids, satyrs and normal people.
Ancient texts on dreams, beautiful landscapes, exquisitely painted pastoral visions can be admired would inspire lots of visitors. In effect it is a real gift for our vision and sensibility, that you cannot buy or sell, lovely and uncannily, rare and trembling, biblical, Pagan and Christian, unabashed or admonitory dreams you can make contact with. Regarding Spanish collaboration, pieces like a marvelous “The vision of Tundale” from the Museo Lazaro Galdiano in Madrid, Spain, can be envisaged as well.
Finally the exhibition is being closed by two large richly colorful and atmospheric paintings of Italian masters as a delightful surprise for the public.
